rural skills

It is well documented that being outdoors and having access to nature related activities can have a positive effect on a person’s mental health and well-being. It is also recognised that a large majority of young people with disabilities face being excluded from such activities due to access difficulties that surround their individual needs.

Learn to Live 19-25 recognise the importance of removing barriers to ensure everyone has equal opportunity and access to the outdoors and the learning opportunities that being in nature can provide. We have been kindly gifted an allotment plot from the Whipton Lane Allotment Association that we have successfully developed and maintained for over two years. This affords our young people the opportunity to have an active role in cultivating their own fresh produce that often plays a starring role in our daily cookery activities.
